Virus Infection Prevention Tips


Do be cautious and don’t open any files attached to an email unless:
• you know what the files are and
• you were expecting the files and
• you know the sender

Do not open files from an unknown or suspicious source.

Do not open any files attached to an email if the subject line is odd or unexpected.

Do update your anti-virus software regularly for the best protection buy software which automatically updates itself when you you connect to the Internet.

Back up your files regularly. If a virus destroys your files, then you can replace them with your back-up copy. Store your backup copy in a separate location from your work files, preferably not on your computer.

Don't just rely on your ISP to scan you email for virus because email is only one of the methods for spreading virus.
